Now part of our project portfolio: "School projects"
In the year 2008, responding to a request of a first school, we have financed a fruit tree orchard in the compound of the respective school. As this initial test-project proved to be successful, the compound of the May-Sheo School was fenced, a well was developed and a fruit tree orchard was established. The trees are developing very nice, they are well-cared by the students and soon the first papaya will be harvested. As all stakeholders (school management, teachers, students, parents) voted for an extension of the project, we have already rolled out the project to other schools, in Oromo region (Gimbichu) as well as Tigray region (Adwa).
Also our donors show great interest in these projects, such as Fondation Yves Rocher who's prizes contributed to the school projects (see Grand Prix Terre de femmes 2009). Therefore we have decided to extend our project portfolio with "school projects" and support such activities in our project areas, based on respective requirements and support. We are looking forward to in the future further engage the ones who's future is still ahead: the children!
